Mary Slaughterhouse is a scruffy, muscular and brave painter from the country. Her life is going nowhere until she meets Raymond Clifford, a puny, beautiful man with a passion for food.

Mary takes an instant disliking to Raymond and the spiteful and sinister ways he learnt during his years in Ireland.

However, when a ghost tries to hurt Mary, Raymond springs to the rescue. Mary begins to notices that Raymond is actually rather daring at heart.

But, the pressures of Raymond's job as a computer programmer leave him blind to Mary's affections and Mary takes up socialising to try an distract himself.

Finally, when brutal swordsman, Sally Williams, threatens to come between them, Raymond has to act fast. But will they ever find the hot love that they deserve?
